Events on the Eastern Trail 2024

Trailwide Events:

• Maine Lighthouse Ride — Registration is now open for our biggest event of the year, which will take place Saturday, September 7th. All proceeds benefit the Eastern Tail Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds, maintains, and promotes the Eastern Trail, southern Maine’s premier multi-use greenway. Register today and help ensure the ongoing maintenance and development of the Eastern Trail.  More information here.

Upcoming So. Portland-Scarborough-OOB-Saco Section Events:

• Wednesday, April 24 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk, 7:30 – 9pm EDT, Pine Point Parking Area, 138 Pine Point Road Scarborough, ME – Join the Eastern Trail Alliance for its April Full Moon Walk in Scarborough Marsh. The walk is limited to 25 people and is first come first serve. Pets and flashlights are not allowed for this event to ensure guests can best appreciate the marsh and full moon. Registration required – go here to register.  Please email info@easterntrail.org with any questions you may have.
• Saturday, June 1 – 7th Annual John Andrews Memorial Walk or Run, Eastern Trail in Saco. The John Andrews 5K is a signature fundraising event of the Eastern Trail Alliance, a nonprofit that builds, maintains, and promotes the Eastern Trail. Go here for more information and to register! This event recognizes the immense commitment and determination of the Eastern Trail’s founder, John Andrews, and directly supports our ongoing efforts to expand and maintain the trail for all users. We look forward to seeing you all again this year!

Upcoming Biddeford-Arundel-Kennebunk Section Events:

• Saturday, April 27 – Celebrate Trails Day on the Eastern Trail, Race start 9 am, Eastern Trail Biddeford, 50 W Cole Rd. Join the Eastern Trail Alliance and Eastern Trail parkrun, Biddeford for a free and friendly timed 5K to honor Celebrate Trails Day, an annual spring celebration of America’s trails! Registration Information: All participants must register (if you have never previously registered with parkrun) to participate and receive a result. Walkers, joggers, and runners welcome! To register and learn more visit: https://www.parkrun.us/easterntrailbiddeford/. Spectators: You’re welcome to come along and spectate without registering. Eastern Trail Alliance staff will be passing out swag, promoting upcoming events, and discussing the latest trail news! Bring your friends. Start Info: The race starts at 9:00 am, arrive beforehand. The start and finish line is located on the Eastern Trail, behind, and accessible from, the Biddeford SMHC Hospital Parking lot. Please note there are no public facilities available at the SMHC Parking Lot or on the Eastern Trail.

Upcoming Eliot, South Berwick, Berwick, North Berwick, Wells Section Events:

• No events scheduled at this time.
  

Group Trail Events:

• Lunch and Loop Rides took place in 2023. These are intended to acquaint participants with the beauty of the Eastern Trail and increase two-wheeled camaraderie, and usually range from three to five bike rides. To allow riders to enjoy Maine’s seasonal changes, ride organizers Russ Lamer and Bob LaNigra.  Go here for more info on 2023 rides and to read about past Loop and Lunch Rides.
• Full Moon walks are scheduled throughout the year, usually every month – walking in the summer, snowshoeing and skiing as possible in the winter. Groups will be limited in size to 25 people and masks/social distancing is required. No flashlights or pets, please.
